Return of the Lites

From 11th Jan there will be a separate "Castlereagh Lite" run each Sunday leaving Forster Greens at 9:30. Over the last couple of months there hasn't consistently been sufficient numbers to split the group meaning we've had a kinda semi-skimmed, but as the full-fat bunch prepare for the racing season and the pace lifts, it's healthy for everyone to have two separate groups again.

Depending on the weather the Castlereagh Lite route will be 55-80k (35-50miles, but k is more impressive). There will be a coffee stop along the way. The routes will still be challenging, but aimed at leisure cyclists and those getting into the sport, rather than racers, wannabe racers and has-been racers who make up the full-fats (I'm in the latter).

This is the time of the year to get training, so don't put it off - wrap up warm, put a rain jacket in your pocket and get your ass in gear. 60k in a group is easier than 40k alone. Anyone who is capable of riding 30+ miles is welcome. Under Cycling Ireland rules anyone can come along for two taster rides, then you are required to take out an annual leisure licence which costs £30 - in return, subject to availability and the odd hand at our events we'll give you a jersey - it's the best deal in town.

Please pass this on to anyone you think would be interested - see you Sunday
